Anomaly rules and alerts
Choose what the AI watchdog monitors, tune its thresholds, and set who is notified and when.
The AI watchdog checks your fleet data against anomaly rules and creates an insight whenever a rule is triggered. Notification preferences then decide who hears about it, and how.
Anomaly rules
Who: System Administrator.
Open Settings → AI Assistant, then select Configure rules on the AI Watchdog card.
Default rules
Vectis comes with rules for common fleet situations:
| Category | Rule | Default threshold | Default severity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuel | High fuel consumption | 120% of fleet average | Warning |
| Compliance | Upcoming deadline | Within 14 days | Warning |
| Compliance | Overdue compliance item | Past due | Critical |
| Driving behaviour | Low driving score | Below fleet threshold | Warning |
| Driving behaviour | Declining driving score | Significant decline | Warning |
| Booking | Unusual booking volume | Deviation from rolling average | Info |
| Inspection | Repeated inspection failures | Recurring failures | Warning |
| Maintenance | High maintenance costs | Above fleet average threshold | Warning |
| Utilisation | Vehicle underutilisation | Below 20% utilisation | Info |
Changing a rule
For each rule you can:
- turn it on or off with its toggle
- select Edit Thresholds to change its:
- Severity: Info, Warning or Critical
- Cooldown (minutes): the minimum time before the same anomaly is reported again for the same vehicle, driver or pool
- Threshold: the value that triggers it, for example raising the fuel threshold from 120% to 150%
How repeat alerts are suppressed
When the watchdog finds an anomaly, it checks for an unacknowledged insight from the same rule, for the same vehicle, driver or pool, within the cooldown. If there is one, the new detection is not reported again. Once the cooldown ends or the existing insight is acknowledged, new detections are recorded as normal.
Notification preferences
The AI Settings page (Settings → AI Assistant) also holds AI notification settings.
Your own preferences
In AI Alert Notifications, choose for each category:
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Minimum severity | Info, Warning or Critical. Only insights at or above this level notify you |
| Channels | In-app, email and push, each on or off |
For example:
- Compliance insights: Critical and Warning, by in-app, email and push
- Fuel insights: Critical only, by in-app and email
- Booking insights: off
Organisation defaults
Who: System Administrator.
Organisation AI Notification Defaults apply to everyone who has not set their own preferences.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours hold back non-critical AI notifications during a set time, for example 22:00 to 07:00. Set a start time, an end time and a timezone, then select Save Quiet Hours.
During quiet hours, Info and Warning notifications are held. Critical notifications are always delivered straight away.
Escalation
If a Critical insight is not acknowledged within a set time, Vectis notifies every System Administrator in your organisation.
Push notifications on mobile
Critical insights can send push notifications to the Vectis mobile app. Turn on the push channel in your preferences, and allow notifications for the app on your device.
