The driver logbook in the mobile app
Start and stop journeys, take breaks and review your logbook history from your phone.
Drivers record journeys from the Logbook tab in the bottom navigation of the mobile app. The tab appears if your role can view logbooks.
The Logbook home screen
The Logbook tab shows:
- a Start Journey button;
- today's business, private and total kilometres;
- the active logbook period for your current vehicle, if there is one;
- your recent entries;
- how many entries are unclassified, with a link to the classification queue.
Record a journey
Start the journey
Tap Start Journey. The active journey screen opens.
Set the details
Choose the journey type: Business (green), Private (red) or Home to Work (amber). Enter the odometer reading, or let it fill in from telematics if the vehicle has a linked device. For business journeys, enter the purpose; suggestions come from your last 20 business purposes.
While you drive, the screen shows a timer, distance, current speed and a live map.
Stop the journey
Tap Stop Journey and enter the end odometer reading, or let it fill in from telematics. If you haven't entered a business purpose yet, you'll be asked for one.
Check the summary and save
The journey summary shows the route map, total distance and duration, and your breaks. You can still change the journey type, purpose and odometer reading. Tap Save to create the logbook entry, or Discard to cancel it.
Take a break
During a journey, tap Start Break and choose the type:
- Personal Use: a personal errand during a business journey.
- Rest Stop: for fatigue management.
- Meal Break: a food or refreshment stop.
A break timer starts and your location is recorded. Tap End Break to carry on. Breaks appear in the journey's timeline.
If the app closes or you lose signal
- The journey keeps going. If the app is closed or crashes during a journey, reopening it resumes the journey.
- You can record offline. Entries created offline are queued on your phone and sync when you reconnect.
- Background location. With your permission, the app tracks your location in the background during a journey to record the route and measure distance.
Your logbook history
The History screen lists your past entries by date, with the journey type, time, distance and the start of the purpose. Filter by journey type and pull down to refresh.
Tap an entry to see its full details and map. For entries you created manually, you can edit the purpose and journey type, or delete the entry.
Classifying detected journeys
If your organisation creates entries from telematics, you'll be asked to classify them. See Classifying journeys.
