Administrator controls

Turn the AI Connector on, allow proposals, choose which AI apps can connect, and see or revoke connections.

Everything on this page is under Settings → AI Connector. You need the SystemSettings permission to open it.

Turn the connector on

  1. Open the settings

Go to Settings → AI Connector.

  2. Enable it

Under Connector access, switch on Enable AI Connector.

If your plan doesn't include the connector, the page says "Your organisation's plan doesn't include the AI Connector." and the switch is disabled.

Once it is on, anyone in your organisation can connect a supported AI app as themselves.

Organisations with Australian data residency

If your organisation keeps its data within Vectis's Australian data residency, the connector starts off and needs one extra step:

  1. Switch it on

Switch on Enable AI Connector as normal.

  2. Read the notice

A Data residency notice explains that turning the connector on means responses will be processed by whichever AI vendor your people connect, under that vendor's terms, outside Vectis's residency guarantees.

  3. Accept

Tick I understand and select Turn on.

Vectis records who accepted the notice, and when. You only need to accept it again if the connector is switched off.

Allow AI apps to propose changes

By default, connected AI apps can only read Vectis data.

Switch on Allow AI apps to propose changes to let them create proposals. With it off, change permissions are greyed out on the consent screen people see when connecting, and any attempt to propose a change is refused.

Turning this on does not let AI apps apply changes. A person must still confirm each proposal. See Approving changes.

Choose which AI apps can connect

Under Connector access, Verified platforms allowed lists Vectis's verified platforms: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot Studio.

  • Leave every box unticked to allow all verified platforms (the default).
  • Tick one or more boxes to allow only those platforms.

Unverified apps. Any other MCP app is unverified, and people can't connect one by default. Switch on Allow unverified AI apps only if you trust every app your people might connect, because Vectis hasn't checked them.

When someone tries to connect an app that isn't allowed, the consent screen explains why and only offers Cancel.

Find the server URL

The Server URL card shows the address people paste into their AI app, with a copy button.

See who is connected

  • Connected AI apps lists every AI app connected by anyone in your organisation: the app (with a Verified or Unverified badge), the person, when they connected and when it was last used. You need the UsersManage permission to see it.
  • Usage (last 30 days) shows calls and failures by app and person.

Disconnect someone

In Connected AI apps, select Revoke next to a connection and confirm. The AI app loses access at once: its next call fails.

Turn the connector off

Switch off Enable AI Connector. Every connection in your organisation stops working on its next call, with the message "An administrator has turned off the Vectis AI Connector for your organisation."

Turning it back on resumes existing connections. Nobody has to reconnect.
